“If you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right.” – Henry Ford and Jerry Stukey
My dad would say this to me and my sisters so often that it is still on constant loop in my head, and I think of it often as we tackle the inevitable challenges of building our products and our brand.
At Millea Living, we have created a company based on purpose driven design. Design helps people live better lives because these products don’t make people feel like they are sick or make their homes look like hospitals. We have been told people don’t use their Daily Living Aids (DLAs) because they are ashamed of them. But, with our products, they will love using them in their homes to make them feel safer. There is no doubt it is hard to be one of the first companies to make products that not only function for people who need assistance, but are also beautiful – but we think we can!
We receive many accolades from people who have been working hard to promote better care and better lives for seniors and disabled people. They completely understand what we are trying to do and they are cheering us on to keep pushing our messages forward. This is extremely encouraging to us. We also know that some people may not understand the issues we are addressing until they deal with a parent or other family member that is going through challenges with mobility. In some way or another, we are all going to face these issues. At Millea Living, we want to create better options for people – and we think we can!
On March 3rd, we will be launching a crowd funding campaign to help us prototype and manufacture the first run of the Judith Cart. Our goal is not only to raise funds, but also to build broader awareness of what we are doing and why we are doing it. Please see our Pre-Launch Page here. Please sign up for more information about our campaign (and don’t forget to confirm once Indiegogo sends you the “confirm your support” email). Share this page with your family, friends and other people who might be interested in helping us spread the word about the positive benefits of Aging-In-Place and living more independently with disabilities. And please share the information with people who just love good design, because the Judith Cart can be used by anybody! We are so thankful you believe in us and our mission. We would love it you could help us – and we think you can!
On a journey where belief in our ideas has to be one of the ingredients that helps us move forward, we appreciate you and your belief in us. Yes, we actually can make this happen. And YES! We appreciate your help in sharing our story and our mission with others. Please join us on Indiegogo and sign up on our Pre-Launch Page to be the first to know when we go live with our campaign.
Thank you friends!
